I would like to be able to allow users to retake the course as much as possible, while also having the course expire at a certain time. If the course is set to expire in 4 weeks, the user can retake the course as much as they want until the 4 weeks is up.

Yes, please, this is an essential feature that's failing.
When a course is sold that lasts for X months (6 months, for example), the logical thing would be for the user to be able to finish and restart it as many times as they want, within the 6-month duration. That feature exists in Learnpress, all right.
But when the 6 months arrive, the course expires and is blocked according to the course configuration. However, since it's configured to accept retakes, the course still displays the restart button, even though the 6 months the user paid for have ended.
And the course starts again. The ability to repeat the course, during its duration (which is a good feature, don't remove it), should be conditioned to the course end date, if it has one.
Restart the course as many times as user wants, but never after the course end date.
